2017 Takeover Girls Preview
AlphaWe Caribbean Carnival Band officially launched on April 22, 2017.
What began as a bold idea quickly became a memorable moment filled with family fun, food, music, and the main event — the Parade of the Bands. Though small in size, the presentation was powerful, vibrant, and unforgettable.
That year was about introducing something new. Something unique. Something beautiful. AlphaWe Art and Entertainment declared it the year of the Takeover — an invasion of energy and a celebration of the power of the few.
Proudly Rooted in St. Lucia
In our debut, we proudly showcased the island of St. Lucia, the birthplace of AlphaWe. Its majestic flag colors — blue, yellow, black, and white — gave us a visual identity that helped us stand apart.
But even more vibrant than the colors were the revelers who came out ready to celebrate. Many of you joined before fully knowing what Carnival was all about, and once you stepped into the experience, you were absolutely outstanding.
Your energy, your trust, and your willingness to be part of something different helped create a memory that Tampa would not soon forget.
The Beginning of the Journey
AlphaWe was never just about costumes. It was about identity, creativity, and building something that felt fresh, exciting, and true to who we are.
We are grateful to everyone who took the chance to believe in our vision from the beginning. Thank you for helping us introduce AlphaWe to Tampa and for being part of the foundation of this journey.
What Came Next
The 2017 launch was only the beginning.
With the band launch for 2018, we gave everyone a sneak peek into the future — a preview of what AlphaWe could become. It was a signal that something greater was on the horizon, with the full experience set to unfold beginning with our official band launch that December.
Special Thanks to Our Sponsors
We also extend heartfelt thanks to the sponsors who helped support AlphaWe in our early days. Their partnership helped make our launch possible and played a role in building the platform we continue to grow today.
